A couple of weeks ago I went to Rome for my monthly four day vacation. I had never been to Rome before and so I didn't really know what to expect (other than amazing food, obviously), and what struck me most was the light in the city. I know my photos cannot do it justice, but it was something else. Pretty spectacular! I think it might have been the time of year especially, because light shifts along with the seasons, and this was such a lovely early fall light. I had to buy a pair of kitchy sunglasses in a tourist shop by Fontana de Trevi, to keep my eyes from watering all the time - because the light was so bright and white in character. But I loved every second of my trip.
Luckily, I left a snowy Sweden only to find a warm (18 degrees Celsius!) piece of leftover summer in Italy, to wrap myself in like a sun bleached favourite bath towel. Here are a few of the photos from my trip, which I spent eating criminal amounts of (perfectly al dente, amazing) pasta, drinking wine and walking through the city. Almost feels like a dream now, and can't wait to go back. - Emily
