Looking far ahead.
Emma has this space in her attic with the most amazing light. She's been talking about shooting stuff up there for years. Literally, years. Today we finally got to try it out, and it really was something else. I'm totally taken by the light in this attic room, and can't wait to shoot there again next week!
It's such a weird thing working with seasonal features, like I do every day. We are working on three different seasons right now: fall 2018, winter 2018 and spring 2019. And spring 2018 hasn't even started yet. It's not only the fact that you have to be one step ahead trend-wise, it's also very much a matter of being "anywhere but here" a lot at work. It was freezing cold today and we worked in our winter coats, but in my camera it was the height of late summer. It does something to the mind, somehow. Like there's hope for that which is to come, if you know what I mean?
I'm in a place mentally right now where I'm thinking more than ever about visual expression. I feel like I am on a road of development an growth that is steering me, but I don't know where. I have so many thoughts and plans but hesitate about how to put them in to action. But I have learnt that thinking to hard about things seldom make them happen, so I guess I should just shut up and go for it. So here I go. - Emily
