Roadtrippin’ with a mended heart.
I’ve been on the road for a couple of weeks now. I thought the internet connection wouldn’t ever be a problem but wow. Hotel’s in Europe (at least the ones in the country side) have shitty wifi. It’s a joke, really. I’Ve even paid extra for more the wifi and still, it’s been awful all the way. Thus, I haven’t been able to blog like I had planned to. In hindsight though, I think the minimal amount of internet has been great for me. I’ve really been able to unwind this time around, and I am feeling so good right now. And I am so happy.
But let me start by showing you the beginning. The first day, we (me, my bf, our friend and my dogs Stella and Arthur) started off early in the morning, leaving Stockholm and heading towards Denmark - our first stop.
The dogs ride in the back of the car; they both have their own roomy cage, for safety. We drovw for almost 10 hours before reaching the small village Prästö south of Copenhagen. We stayed at a small B&B that hadn’t been updated since the late 80’s, but that didn’t matter because the surroundings were SO beautiful. We went for a walk by the sea in the evening, and the entire village seemed to be in bloom. The dogs swam and played on the beach, and afterwards we ate a dinner comprised of fresh fish and shrimp at the small harbor. After dinner, a sudden and heavy rain hit the coast, and we fles back to our little 80’s hotel. We all fell in bed with exhausted smiles on our faces.
The morning after, we hit the road once again. More on that next time. - Emily
