Don't be blue, be aquamarine, darling.
When we first reached our final destination for our roadtrip - my family's house off the Costa Blanca in Spain - it was mid-day and scorching hot. I preceded to throw both dogs in the pool to cool them off, and they pretty much stayed in it after that. Well, mostly Stella. She is a labrador after all, and they were practically made to swim. They have webbed paws, did you know that? And their fur functions like feathers in water, pushing it away and becoming almost oily. It fascinates me to see the different traits of my dogs, and to see them in the natural habitats.
A couple of days after we arrived, another group of friends joined us. Among them my friend Jonna, who you might know as the person behind the Instagram account @semesterpappa (checkout her blog here and fall in love if you haven't already). She brought her camera, as I did mine, and that prompted a few walks along the mountain where we live. I really love Calpe, it is such a special place to me, a second home for so many years now. We stayed for a little over two weeks, but I didn't take too many photos because I needed to log off. Also, the internet was down for a period of time and that was quite enjoyable in a way. I got to spend time with the people and animals that I love the most, and to focus only on being with them - and it was everything I needed. - Emily
