On the second day of our roadtrip, me and my bf took Stella for a morning walk along the coast at Prästö. The other's slept in as we walked from our tiny hotel along the water. We met two labradors that Stella got to play with, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw her jaunt and zoom through the high grass. I just love watching the dogs running free, their joy is so pure and childlike just then.
Afterwards we packed up the car and headed towards the Dutch village of Barchem. The hotel was located smack bam in the middle of a beautiful forrest, and overall the scenery in this part of the Netherlands was really thick and green. I took the dogs for a walk in the woods and looked at the sunset before going to bed. The next morning I went for a run before heading South towards France, and I must say that the ritual of morning runs has been one of my favourite parts of road tripping. Partly, my limbs and brain longs to move after hours sitting still in a car, but more importantly I have gotten to see so much more of each location we've stayed at. There is something very special about running along a canal or wood path that you will most possibly never see again. You're much more attentive, and that in itself almost become lethargic.
Our next stop was France, and the village of Beaune, but more on that later. - Emily
