Bleached blue skies and dusty pink fingertips.
On the third day of our road trip we came to the little France city of Beaune. The drive from Belcham to Beaune was our longest yet, and we reached our hotel complex - which was surrounded by vineyards as this is the region for burgundy wines - as the sun was grazing the mountain tops in the distance. We went for a quick bite at a tiny restaurant, before we all went to bed. In the morning we went for a walk through the little city, stopping by a boulangerie to buy baguette and croissants for lunch, and then we took off. We had lunch in a field by the road side on a blanket later that day, and it was one of the nicest moments of our trip. I was just the way I had imagined it; gingham picknick blanket, freshly baked bread and champagne, and fresh fruit. The dogs meandered around us freely while we ate in the shadow of a big tree, before we hit the road once again (ofc not driving while under the influence, my bf doesn't drink). We reached Spain in the late afternoon, and I got to take the dogs for their first swim in the ocean. They loved it so much, and I was so happy to watch them run head first in to the waves. Such a perfect day. - Emily
