I've lost count on what day we reached Vichy, but I remember how tired we were. And happy. The day before we had stayed in the most awful apartment hotel on the French coast - no AC and long winding, moldy corridors led us to a tiny room with a balcony overlooking a parking lot and garbage bins. To give us back some zest for life I booked us at the Vichy spa and hotel and it was SO GOOD. The room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the park and river, and the spa and pool were just so clean and peaceful. It was just what we needed.
What I hadn't expected was to fall in love with Vichy. I had no idea what to inspect at all, in fact, and the small city turned out to be really picturesque. It reminded me a little bit of the French Quarter in New Orleans, only cleaner and, well, even more french. The people all seemed to be smiling, and I saw many dogs, which is always a clear sign of a good place to live.
In the evening we went out and ate at a small restaurant called Brasserie Casino and it was so good. Me and bf had a great date, and afterwards we took the dogs for a walk along the river. I hope to go back here some day and stay longer. It was really something else. - Emily
